Beautiful Bright Red Anemones

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I wish I could tell you all that I have been in hiding or was on a wonderful Hawaiian Vacation but no luck, I have been (and am still) struggling with what started as a lousy cold and quickly turned into an awful chest infection.  (If you knew how long it has taken me to do this post, you would laugh!)

(Apologies in advance for any ramblings, misspells or incoherence, blaming it on the meds, He! He!)

Anyway, I wanted to share with you these Beautiful Bright Red Anemones that bloom in my Garden every year. Some of you might have seen this first photo before in a previous blog post

This photo was taken with my trusty Canon Point and Shoot. I love the colour and the pattern and textural quality in the photo but spatially it truly wasn't working for me. I had it buried in the postings in my Etsy shop and when it came up for renewal a few weeks ago, I thought I would play with it and see if I could come up with a photo that really represented the Flower and my Artist's Heart.

Here is some of the fun I had :)

Original Photo

Very slight enhancement of contrast and brightness

Photo cropped with the enh. and a little Histogram effect equaliser (I love this feature because it helps me as an Artist to see the strengths and weaknesses in an image)

Then I went to a very tight crop and played with a few colour enhancements, this is a slight splash of red colour mix

This is a little more red on the colour balance mode

Then I moved to the more yellower washes

This is from an auto colour balance with warmer tones

Back to the yellow wash again with a hint more.

These last 3 are when I decided I liked the auto colour balance effect the best and just added warmer

and warmer

and warmer tones :)

I was really happy with these images and decided to get one printed (2nd to last) I was very pleased with the result.

Let me know what you think!

BTW, I am having a 50% off Spring Sale in my Etsy Photography shop right now. But if any of my dear Blogger Buddies would like to buy I will offer you another 10% off. A total of 60% off and no charge on extra shipping for multiple purchases. Just contact me at my Etsy Shop and I can set up a special listing just for you.

Have a wonderful Evening! :)

Happy Painting/Creating! :) T.

Sorry you've been sick. :-( There has been so much of that cold/chest thing going around at the school I work at...pneumonia too...so take it easy , rest up and get well.

Love the tight crop shots...they looks really neat. How lucky to have those bloom in your yard....absolutely lovely!

Happy Tuesday!

I hate being sick - it makes everything feel so hard and like I can't cope - blah!! SO sorry that you've been unwell - it's not nice.

The Anemones however would make anyone feel a bit brighter :-)

Hi T. I hope you're better soon! I always enjoy seeing how you play with the photos and get the different effects. I do like the one you chose to print.

Feel better my friend! :)

Boo on being sick :( Red is my favorite color (well and bright pink too) and you certainly do it justice in all of your shots. Such a pretty flower. Love it!

the detail of these flowers is just gorgeous. what a great idea - to transform a photo you weren't thrilled with into something lovely.

yesterday we had a touch of spring here, which we celebrated with a quickie bbq (first of the season!). it was nice to be out in the sunshine. i just hope it picks up the pace, and comes back much sooner! :P

i'm ready for summer!!!!

Beautiful, hope you feel better soon.

I really liked the closeups myself...I can see these on a wall in a modern setting in a group! I would like to revisit some of my flower shots from last year and see what else I can do with them via processing!

T so sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Hope you're now on your way to a full recovery. :)

The photos are fantastic. I have no idea how I missed your post to start with, other than I've been having problems with google blogspot. All my followers have disappeared and my blog roll of favorites sometimes misses things. Not sure what to do about it and trying to find help on google is like trying to find a real person on the other end of a customer service phone number.

Thanks you guys for all the lovely sweet encouraging comments. I am slowly on the mend and hoping for some nice weather to go out for a little next week and snap a few photos, seems like ages since I did that or leave the house for that matter :)

Have a lovely weekend, my dear Blogger Buddies, cheers, T. :)
