Mixed Up Monday!

Happy Monday Everyone :)

I wanted to introduced you all to the newest member of our family "OLAF" :) His creator Christy Runyan displays her work at my fav. art gallery here in Portland, the Attic Gallery if you are in town you should popped in and say "Hi" they are a friendly bunch and have the best selection of art in town.

He seems to be settling in very well :)

My Blogger Buddy Kelli from Bug Miscellany Blog is such a sweetheart, she gave my Blog When T. Rules The World the blogger award below, thanks Kelli you are awesome :)

She wrote a lovely blog post last week about how her parents have inspired her it was very moving, check it out HERE

I do not think I could be quite so eloquent. I am inspired by my Children and I feel very blessed to have them. :)

On a different note, Guess who came to dinner the other night?!?!?!

Yep, a family of skunks!

Can you believe it, in my suburban garden, now I think I have seen everything. You know growing up in suburban England the wildest thing I ever saw in our garden was a Hedgehog. But since living in America I have seen in my Garden, Rattle snakes, Possums, Raccoons, Deer, Coyotes, Bats and now Skunks, who needs to go to the Zoo :)

I know the photos are not up to the usual quality but chasing these guys around the garden to get a shot was tough, a point and shoot might have been a better camera to use for this task.

Anyway, it was entertaining and you have to admit they are rather cute :)

I also wanted to share with you the
Dear Darlings pen pal project over at Oh My Darling Blog

Melissa, has set up groups of people who want to be pen pals, yes actually write REAL letters to each other, if you are interested in joining, click the Dear Darlings link and get started, she would love to hear from you :)
And Lastly, I wanted to let you know that in the month of August I am having a sale of all my Rose Prints in my Etsy Photography Shop :)
Any 8 x 8, 8 x 10, or 8 x 12 Rose Print for just $10.00 that is a 60% savings. Get a jump start on those Holiday gifts. Who doesn't love flowers that will last forever :)

Have a great start to the week :)

Happy Painting/Creating! :) T.

Gardening Journal.

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Well, I haven't done much sewing yet but I have been playing with lots of photos. I decided that I needed to update the banner on my Etsy photography shop, I really wanted one that represented me and here it is! What do you think?

I had so much fun doing this and I have so many images and Artwork that I have decided to do a few custom Banner/Avatar sets and will be posting those soon.

SO, those of you who follow me on a regular basis know that every Friday I share pictures of beautiful flowers and mostly from my own garden. It has taken years of planning with some trail and error. My trusty companion thru all of this has been my wonderful Gardening Journal.

Stuffed with notes and photos of what has worked and what hasn't.

If everything I planted and planned had turned out the Royal Horticultural Society would be calling (He! He!). BTW, I once worked at the Chelsea Flower Show (when I was in my 20's) making sandwiches in the refreshment tent, that was an eye opener. But to be able to wonder around the show was such a joy.

Here is the note I wrote about planting the Lavender in the Front Garden in front of the Roses to stop the deer eating the Roses. I went back and forth about planting these as it was amazing to see Deer first thing in the morning breakfasting in our suburban garden, the kids loved to see them and so did I but it meant I lost the whole first round of Roses each season. With so much property development going on around us in the past few years the Deer moved on :(

Here are some of the Roses we planted in our back garden. If you missed seeing these Beautiful Roses here is the blog LINK

When I first got married, it was a older neighbour whose garden I admired greatly that suggested I start a gardening journal and even though it took me a few more years to get around to doing that I am really glad I did.
Have a Wonderful Day!
Happy Painting/Creating! :) T.
