Good Afternoon all :)
Again I am joining My Blogger Buddy Annette at So Many Memories blog for "Thankful Thursday".
I LOVE the idea that we, at least for one day a week, stop and think consciously about what we are Thankful for :)

Tomorrow in Remembrance Day in Britain and the Commonwealth (or Poppy Day as we like to call it :) It is also Veterans Day in the U.S.A.
It gives us all pause for thought.
Both mine and my Hubby's Father's were called up as 17 year olds to defend their Country in WWII, thankfully they did not see action but my Uncles did. Our Grandfathers fought during WWI and thankfully survived. This was supposed to be the war that ended all war but didn't and wiped out a generation of young men.
So, I just want to say that I am truly, truly thankful to all the men that have gone before and the brave men and women who have or do place their lives on the line everyday for us to enjoy the amazing freedoms we have every single day.
A very big "THANK YOU" for my freedom.
Don't forget to pop over and visit Annette at So Many Memories to see what she is Thankful for today :)
What are you Grateful for Today???
Hope you all had a wonderful Day! :)
Happy Painting/Creating! :) T.

Great post Teresa!!
Growing up in Canada it will always be Remembrance Day to me too!! I miss wearing the poppies...I've never seen them here in the US. I'd love to get my hands on one for my jacket.
This week I'm thankful for a shorter work week...it's been hectic at work, so that extra day off will be so nice.
Flowers from my hubby just because, those are the best ones in my opinion, no occasion except that he was thinking of me.
And a fab phone call that let my son know he'd made the high school soccer team!! Lots of happiness that eve in our house. :-D
Hope you're having a great day!
I am forever thankful for the men and women who serve their country, where ever that may be. That's a gorgeous photo! Thank you for participating! :)
Hi T ~ I hope you are enjoying the fall foliage that has been so incredible this year. This time last year, it snowed here in Rainier. Crazy. I need to get back to Thankful Thursday posts, I miss that. I really enjoyed yours. Cheers, Jenni
I'm thankful for the people who server their country and for freedom. I find Veteran's Day or Remembrance Day a time to stop and think of family and friends no longer with us. Happy Poppy Day!
Wonderful tribute T ! It's sad to say but I have not seen the sweet little paper poppies that the Veterans used to hand out on Veterans Day. It used to be that veterans were a common sight on Nov. 11th, in malls and on the sidewalks of down-town areas, graciously handing out little paper poppies. People would accept them just as graciously and drop a donation into their coffers that would go towards helping other war vets. Maybe this custom has gotten lost in our hubbub over Halloween and Christmas.
Even Thanksgiving has gotten lost in the greed of commercialized merchandizing ... Thank you so much Wal Mart. :(
