Oh, What a Night!

Happy Friday Everyone! :)

Well, we are truly grateful that the Tsunami that was headed for the Oregon Coast was mild. Our Son is a counsellor at ODS (Outdoor School) right now at the coast and so they have spent a rather disturbed night with Tsunami sirens going off all the time and moving the campers to higher ground. Not much sleep and now, they are just waiting for the All Clear, so they can come home. :)

As I watched the news last night with the live shots of the Tsunami in Japan I was overwhelmed.

We are truly saddened by the tragedy in Japan. We are keeping them in our thoughts and our hearts go out to them :)

As I switched on my Computer this morning I thought maybe some photos of the beautiful Purple Crocus in my Garden would bright our lives a little.

I change the colour on this one photo, which one do you like the best?

1). Original shot, no changes at all.

2). Slight brightness and contrast added.

3). A little Colour Balance

4). Colour Balance and a Little Colour Mix

5). Just Colour Mix.

Leave me a comment and let me know :)

Have a wonderful Weekend :)

Happy Painting/Creating! :) T.

i like the bottom one very much....what a terrible thing to happen to japan....i follow a few blogs which are based there so it did make me worry....my heart totally breaks for the people who are left and have to deal with the many deaths that face them now.....it reminds us to make sure we are prepared especially those of us on the west coast....

The tragedy of the Japanese Tsunami is heartbreaking but it is only the tip of the iceberg. As days go by and the clean up gets underway the death toll numbers will roll. :(

T, all the pictures are pretty but I really like the first, original photo. You captured the perky and pretty little crocus clan beautifully.

My heart goes out to all the people affected in Japan...how very scary, I can't even begin to imagine what they are feeling. Looking at the photos and watching the news is scary in itself.

Lovely photo...though they are all lovely, I think I really do like the original one the best!

Hope you are having a nice Friday!

What has happened in Japan is so very sad and hard to comprehend. It's just another reminder of how our lives can change in an instant.

I like the first and second photos. The second one looks like a painting and I love the pink!

Have a wonderful weekend! :)

Hi T ~ I am too thankful that the waves hitting the Oregon coast were mild, as I have many friends living there.
I can only imagine the long night your family had awaiting news! I hope you get some RnR over the weekend.

I love the original photo..and I love the last one because it looks so modern with the colors waved. It's pretty cool. Cheers, Jenni

Japan's not over. I am terrified about their nuclear plants. THAT will be a glabal event.

Meanwhile, Poppy, HI! Great to see a familiar blog, and thank you for your comment on mine.

The first photo, for sure, is the best. Who can perfect nature? The color is right, the focus is right, the definition and depth are right - leave it alone. You're a good photographer, face it - you don't need to try to doll it up.

did I really say glabal? You know I meant global.

so grateful that it wasn't bad on our end, but so sad for what happened on the other side of the world. nature is a fearsome beast, sometimes.
ps - crocuses! that means spring, right?
double ps - so happy to hear you are safe and dry! :)

Thanks for all your wonderful comments :)

Your help on choosing photos is great I guess I spend so much time looking at them I go cross eyed (He! He!)

Seeing more photos of the devastation in Japan and hearing threats of more to come we are keeping the Japanese in our hearts and holding our Dear ones closer, :) T.

Oh, Poppy, I'm glad all is well. I still cannot process what's going on in Japan. It's breaking my heart.

I also like the original crocus photo. It brightened my rainy morning here in Ohio.

So glad to hear that all turned out well for your son at the coast. The news from Japan has stopped my breath many times already, and like MAB said, it's so difficult to process. It seems like heartbreaking tragedy upon heartbreaking tragedy.

I think I like the bottom photo the best. After years of disavowing all shades of purple, I've been attracted to the colors in your photo lately.

I really looove the first one, because that color purple is just blue enough! Stunning! The last one is also great, has the qualities of a painting...the effect is perfect for this photo! They're all wonderful- and it's cool that you shared all the effects! ;)

I like the first one and the last one. such a happy photo to counter the awful pictures from Japan. I feel so bad for them.
