It is Time for a G.Sale!

Last Summer I had one of my sons help me organise our large attic. Most things that could go into boxes were already in them but there were boxes everywhere. They were labeled but not to the detail they are now, numbered and a complete list of content and who it all belongs to.

But, over the past few months, as seems to happen with our family of five, there is even more stuff, literally stuffed into the attic. I know I must be guilty of most of this stuff coming into the house but I am always amazed at how much stuff exists, given that we have a Garage Sale every three years and donate to Goodwill.

I love having Garage Sales. People are so interesting. I love chatting to people, they always have stories to tell, even if it is about the last Garage Sale they just went to.

So, that is the large attic and then we have a smaller attic which mainly consists of my packaging boxes and materials but when I took the photos the other day, I realised there is G.Sale stuff in there too! I really think it is procreating, 'cause I have no clue how it got there.

Now, I am pulling things out of cupboards and closet around the house to add even more to the chaos. But it is time to have yet another G.Sale. I will have to wait 'til the summer when the boys are home from college because there are some big, heavy beds in there.

The one thing I do not like about G.Sales is labeling ever item and you can't do it too early because the stickers just fall off. :(
Anyone else have Garage Sale stories :)
BTW, if you don't already know about http://www.HeartsforHaiti.etsy.com Stacey at Artsnark wrote a neat blog about it yesterday :) There is some cool items for sale and they are raising for such a good cause.
Happy Painting/Creating! :) T.

Garage sales are so fun! it is amazing how quickly things accumulate! We moved here less than a year ago and out things could surely use some editing! good luck!

I love clearing out junk! So cleansing. One of the career ideas I have had is being a professional organizer. Organizing people all day....sounds lovely :)

I've never attempted a garage sale, mainly because the very mention of it causes my hubby to go into shock. He all but goes into a corner and curls up in a fetal position. LOL

I do agree with you 100%, "stuff" reproduces; like hangers in a closet, and "what does this go to?" items in the kitchen junk drawer.
Then of course there's that; "Well as soon as we get rid of it we are going to need it." mentality.
Hey Bethany Dirksen! my hand is up and waving. If you do become a professional organizer I could sure use your help.

We had one last year, which went pretty well. Was able to offload a lot of things. Might have another one this year, since we have to start making room for a nursery. Hope your goes well! :)

Thanks for the shout out :-)

My husband loves having garage sales. He down't bother pricing just waits for someone to ask or make an offer.
