I realised that I didn't have any photos of my work and it got me thinking that maybe I should. So, I rounded up a few of the items I have and here they are. I hope you enjoy them. :)
This is a baby carriage that I made 20 years ago when I was pregnant. Definitely the most challenging piece I have done.
I am an avid reader and so of course I had to make myself a bookmark, I use this everyday and have done for 20 + years. (Yes, I do wash it occasionally :)
This was a fun piece to make, I love the spider pattern (next to the spoon top) and also the rose ground pattern (next to the spoon handle).
I liked making this piece purely because I used a different colour than traditional lace colours.
This lace doily edge has a broader thread which is worked in called a Gimp thread, not a great name but it gives a nice dimension. I always intended to place this piece on a red velvet background and hang it like the baby carriage piece but like all good intentions.................. maybe one day...............
The same goes for this lace collar, I only managed to get one side done, there is at least 30 hours of work in this, so maybe one day I will get its partner done.

These are some of the bobbins I use. I love the different woods that can be used to make bobbins and all the hand painting. (No, I didn't paint them :) It takes 24 pairs of bobbins to make the bookmark. That is a lot of threads to keep organised.
The beads are on the ends to help weight the bobbins down and help balance when weaving. I have to admit I haven't had the time or energy to make any lace in a long time, but I do have my bobbins wound and ready to go, so maybe I will get my lace making pillow out one of these
days...................

Your lace is so beautiful! I can only imagine the time and patience it takes to create a piece. I watched a woman at a craft fair and was fascinated with it. If you get back to it, you have to let us know!

Your lace baby carriage is truly impressive!. It must be a real miracle to keep all those bobbins straight--especially when you put a project down for a while and then try to pick it up again.

Lovely lace work.
I've never tried tatting. My MIL had an antique tatting bobbin, was made out of ivory, when she passed away I was sorting through her sewing paraphernalia and didn't find it. Guess it got lost like so many other things that she had. With her dementia she tended to loose track of items.
Oh wow.. they are all so lovely and intricate! Beautiful work. And I love the bobbins too.. those owl ones are too cute.
