I am so excited to share with you this week's Flower. These are blooms on my Magnolia tree.
It is about 5 years old now and it is most probably 13ft. + high. If you had seen this sorry specimen when it arrived on my doorstep, basically a 2ft. twig, you would have doubted, like I did, whether it was actually a tree or even alive. Questioning whether it is wise to mail order vegetation at all. But thankfully it has thrived and from just 4 years ago when it only had one sad bloom on it the whole season to now being filled with beautiful "cup and saucer" flowers, it is truly breathtaking.
I am very excited by this one, I shot it against a cloudy sky and am very pleased with the result, this is posted in my Esty shop :)
I love the way the petals fall away to reveal hidden colourful treasures. Although this nearly caused a big problem as the squirrels love to eat these and so as the tree was in bud the squirrels were happily chewing there way thru them. I do not know how many times I was running down the garden in my dressing gown trying to scare them away. Most probably scared a few neighbours too. (He! He!)

Beautiful blooms and beautiful photos! And thank you for letting me know I'm not the only person who scares neighbors by running around the garden in a dressing gown in an attempt to scare squirrels. :)
Your tree is so beautiful! And I envy your skill at photography- it's one of the many things I am slowly working on...
Those are really beautiful pictures! I love magnolia trees! They were one of my favorite things about savannah when I lived there.
My favourite, what beautiful photos.
Oh they're lovely! I'm vacationing in Colorado this week and it's been a cold, snowy, blustery day. Thanks for the promise of spring:D Oh, and I just love the angle on the first shot.
I love magnolias!! Those pesky squirrels probably dare each other to see who can make you come running first!!!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Wow, beautiful photos! The first photo looks like a painting! I love magnolia tress and the blossoms are so beautiful up close. A lovely sign of Spring!

T - I remember typing up a comment but my pc has really been slow, think it's bogged down with too many files. Well for whatever reason my comment didn't get recorded.
I just wanted to let you know that the photos are spectacular and I really like the first of the magnolia pictures. It is very unique and beautiful shot from below.
My favorite flowers for their lovely fragrances are the gardenia and the magnolia...followed by jasmine and honeysuckle.
