Brightening a Foggy Day :)

Hi Everyone! :)

Hope your day is going well :)

I took these shots back in October and finally got around to working with them just this week. I LOVE the original shots, SOOC (straight out of camera), but then I wondered what would happen if I added a little warmth to them and then I just kept adding layer after layer and I was so excited about the transition at each level I just had to share them with you :)

Fog on Pete's Mountain (SOOC)

With a layer of warm tones

These tones made me think of some of the Thomas Gainsborough, or Constable or even some of Turner's paintings I had seen in and of the English Countryside :)

I really liked how these next 3 started to get warmer and then fiery :)

This next one I decided on adding a cool tone to, it is amazing how tones completely changes the feel of a photographic image. Just as in painting choosing the colours you work with can leave viewers with a very different reaction.

Here is the same process but with a different shot of the same location in landscape format as opposed to Portrait :)

Let me know which is your fav :)

Have a Wonderful Day!

Happy Painting/Creating! :) T.

It's amazing how tones can change the entire mood of a scene! I really like the warmer tones.

I love the ones that are on fire! But it is really fun to see all the different stages of layering.

This is a gorgeous photo! I have to say I like the cooler tones better... it makes me think of a misty winter day back at home. :) It is really neat how much the red photos look like a forest fire though!

It's so cool how each layer completely changes the photo. I like the fiery ones, but I also really like the very last one...two completely different moods!
I hope you have a great day! :)

This is a GREAT blog post idea! It's awesome to see the differences. I have to say I enjoy the warmer tones and rich look, however the cooler ones remind me of Maine quite a bit. When we last visited Midcoast Maine it was rainy and foggy and we were disappointed after driving 7 hours! But they turned out to be some of the best shots I ever got. :) The mist, the mountains! Everything came together just like in your work. Majestic!

Lovely! It's amazing how different a photograph can look by adding a little color. Of course I love any of the shots that have that gorgeous orange glow...so warm!!

Fantastic T. You're so clever!
I love the 2nd one down and then the first of the landscape ones. And you are so right, the third warmer tone one looked just like a painting :-)

It's amazing the difference in the photos. In some you've created a chilly atmosphere, makes me want to don a jacket; while others look like raging infernos.

OMG I can't even decide! They go from mysterious to scary to on fire! It looks like you had some fun doing these!
